Mount Druitt Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC)

Mount Druitt Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) is undergoing a transformative upgrade, reflective of the positive role it plays in shaping children and teenager’s lives for the better. The project embodies the PCYC mission of empowerment, a community support programme that engages with, and positively influences, its youth members through mainstream sport, recreation, education, leadership and cultural programs.

This $25.4 million project, funded by the NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants (WSIG) program, will see the upgraded PCYC more than double in size—providing new spaces for a wide range of activities, from basketball and futsal to martial arts and boxing. The site is also complemented by improved parking amenity and scalable events spaces. A community-centric project, the landscape design ensures the PCYC remains connected to the district active transport network. This is complemented by a unique water management strategy which feeds into future creek naturalisation projects.

Nguluway DesignInc is providing landscape architecture service in a collaborative team which includes AJC, Northrop, MBM, and Steensen Varming for Blacktown City Council.

Our landscape design approach is deeply rooted in the principles of community, celebrating the rich local environment. The landscape design features meandering entry paths that reflect the local waterways, creating a welcoming and memorable entrance. The central courtyard, positioned between the old and new facilities, will serve as the heart of the site, fostering community gatherings and cultural events.
